A little while ago I did a post about Brook and the fun ways she falls asleep. That very night I found her asleep like this. Too cute. She is snuggling her bear that she recently named Rose. We are thinking that came from Briar Rose, aka Sleeping Beauty.
A few nights later she fell asleep with the book on her face. I think that is The Berry Best Picnic. We are very into Strawberry Shortcake; I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that she wears pink clothes and has a pink kitty.
Just a cute picture I couldn't resist sharing. Gosh, I love that girl. She really does "tickle me pink!"

Firsts
2011 is just over a month old and already we have hit some fun milestones, or firsts, at our house. Brooklyn had her first day of Primary. She is so proud of the fact that she goes to Sunbeams. Her teacher can do no wrong; Brook adores her. For the first week, she mentioned her teacher in her prayers every night. One week she was sick and Brooklyn cried. The week following that Sunday, she kept asking if her teacher was all better. She is still a little shy about participating in Sharing and Singing Time, but that will come. She is learning the words to the songs and I love to hear her little voice around the house.
Ally lost her first tooth! (Actually, she has now lost two.) She could not wait to get to school and write her name on the tooth chart. I love Kindergarten; how every child is validated and celebrated in so many ways. (Why aren't we more like that as adults?) The tooth fairy managed to find her on the top bunk and left a little something. Ally was thrilled and loves feeling grown up.
Sariah put this pony tail in all by herself. I had no idea she knew how. This was the first time I witnessed it. That girl is full of surprises. She was not thrilled with me taking her picture. She acted like, "It's no big deal, Mom." Get used to it, Sariah. I will probably be annoying you for the rest of your life:)
Zac had his first Pinewood Derby. His excitement and anticipation were palpable. His dad and Grandpa helped him make his car. He reminded us constantly that we needed to work on it. I am sure he dreamed about it, both sleeping and awake. As I have mentioned before, he has amazing den leaders and cub masters. They made every boy feel so special and had several events for them to try. Zac won two 3rd place ribbons and got "Sportiest Look." He couldn't have been happier.
As for Sam's accomplishments, take your pick. He has taken to solid foods with gusto. His favorites are bread, bananas, Cheerios and graham crackers. I think his dad even slipped him some chocolate pie tonight. He has also learned to sit himself up and to crawl. And of course, I have no pictures to document these momentous occasions. Well, I do have a few crawling ones that I will save for another post.
Even Joseph and I learned something new. We are now full-fledged texters. Go ahead and laugh. Welcome to the 21st century, right? We got new phones for Christmas and I have to say, I am loving it. I get excited when I hear the little noise my phone makes when I get a text. I know I'm a dork. I especially love keeping in touch with my far away family more often. I even get texts from my Dad. So watch out, you never know what the Ansons will learn to do next!
